Borsa Istanbul up 1.86% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock exchange was at 8,487.98 points at close on Thursday, up 1.86%, versus the previous close.

The index soared by 154.84 points from Wednesday’s close.

Its lowest level was 8,179.93 and the highest was 8,496.42.

During the day, 82 indexes gained value and 16 lost.

The total transaction volume reached 165.7 billion liras ($6 billion), while the overall value of the index was at 7.3 trillion liras ($264.9 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 27.5630 as of 18.05 (GMT1505), while the EUR/TRY was at 28.9820 and GBP/TRY at 33.4150.
