Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,493.55 points on Friday, rising 0.33%, or 8.19 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.81% to close at 2,485.36 points on Thursday, with a daily trade volume of 36 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.3212 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), from 17.3020 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 18.1849 from 18.1510, while a British pound traded for 21.2175 Turkish liras, down from 21.2810 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $119.90 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,845.80.
