Borsa Istanbul up at midweek's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 3,488.07 points on Wednesday, up 0.87%, or 30.04 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose by 1.94% to end Tuesday on 3,458.03 points, with a daily trading volume of 77.9 billion Turkish liras ($4.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.5795 as of 10.08 a.m. local time (0708GMT), the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.5200, and a British pound traded for 21.2850 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $92 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,732.15.
