Borsa Istanbul up at opening

ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index gained 137.83 points to open at 72,657.68 on Friday during its first transactions.

The benchmark index increased by 0.19 percent while the banking and holding sector indexes advanced by 0.21 and 0.12 percent respectively.

On the last trading day of the week, all sector indices advanced at the opening session. The wood paper printing index increased the most, by 0.65 percent.

Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was flat, trading between 3.4860 and 3.4880 early Friday morning, compared to Thursday's closing rate of 3.4860.
