Borsa Istanbul up at opening

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's BIST 100 index was up 107.56 points on Friday to open at 100,179.71, a rise of 0.11 percent.

The banking index was up by 0.08 percent and the holding index rose by 0.09 percent.

Among all sectors, the financial leasing and factoring sectors were the best performers with a 0.63 percent increase, while the sports sector started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.35 percent.

Turkey’s benchmark index previously jumped by 0.69 percent to hit a historic high of 100,072.15 points at Thursday's closing.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was down to 3.5130 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared with 3.5160 at Thursday's close.
