Borsa Istanbul up at opening

ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index was up 0.27 percent at the opening of the daily session Thursday, amid somewhat abating Brexit fears after major central banks said they could introduce additional measures to limit market volatility.

The benchmark index rose 204.59 points to open at 76,916 after it fell slightly, by 0.30 percent, Wednesday, when the total trading volume was higher, at 4.1 billion Turkish liras (almost $1.4 billion).

No major Turkish data announcement is expected Thursday. However, the market will closely watch jobless claims data from the world's largest economy, the U.S.
