Borsa Istanbul up at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index was up 0.2 percent at the opening of the daily session Wednesday, June 22, 2016.

The benchmark index increased slightly by 155.26 points to open at 77,687.03 after closing flat on Tuesday.

The lower volume on Tuesday suggests investors are waiting for the U.K's referendum results as voters across the country go to the polls to decide on the future of their country’s EU membership on Thursday.

Asian stocks jumped on Wednesday again as, apparently, investors guardedly believe that the U.K. will likely stay in the EU.
