Borsa Istanbul up at opening session
- Analysts say Fed's figures on US. non-agricultural employment rate will impact markets
ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index increased by 0.26 percent at the opening of the daily session Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.The benchmark index increased 197.18 points to open at 76,049.97. The banking sector index increased 0.31 percent and the holding sector grew by 0.32 percent. The mining sector index increased the most among the sector indexes with a 2.78 percent rise while the leasing and factoring sector index performed the worst with a 0.72 percent decline. At the closing of the daily session Thursday, BIST-100 index slightly decreased by 0.15 percent to 75,852.80. The loss in the developing countries' currencies, including the Turkish lira against the dollar limited purchasing transactions on the stocks market. Analysts say the Fed's figures of the U.S. non-agricultural employment rate, due at 3.30 p.m. local time (1930GMT) Friday, will have an impact on investors' decisions. Analysts believe that the benchmark index would fluctuate between 75,000 points and 77,500 points during the day.The U.S. dollar versus Turkish lira rate was flat, hovering around 2.9630.
