Borsa Istanbul up at Thursday's open

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,576.07 points on Thursday, rising 0.07%, or 1.77 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.06% to close at 2,574.30 points on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of almost 34.4 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 17.3614 as of 11 a.m. local time (0800GMT) for a daily gain of 0.1%.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.2453 with a 0.3% daily loss, while a British pound traded for 21.1391 Turkish liras – down 0.6%.

The price of Brent crude oil was at $110.12 per barrel with a 1.4% decline, while the price of gold was flat at $1,837 per ounce.
