Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday's open

BIST 100 index earns around 7.5 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened on Tuesday at 1,461.73 points, increasing 0.51% or 7.48 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up by 0.90% at 1,454.25 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.34 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 8.3240 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.3400.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.1400 versus 10.1390, while one British pound traded for 11.8000 Turkish liras, up from 11.7380.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for $69.70 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
