Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,526.73 points on Tuesday, rising 0.66%, or 16.59 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.3% to close at 2,510.14 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of over 36.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.1 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 17.2152 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT) for a daily loss of 0.27%.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 17.9785 with a 0.17% daily rise, while a British pound traded for 20.9372 Turkish liras -- up 0.08%.

The price of Brent crude oil was trading at $123.37 per barrel with a 0.9% rise, while the price of gold was $1,828 per ounce for a 0.48% gain.
