BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Thousands of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens are heading to polls on Sunday in four municipalities where the Oct. 6 local elections were postponed due to devastating floods.
As many as 54,379 voters are registered to choose local governments in the towns of Kiseljak, Kresevo, Fojnica, and Konjic.
The Balkan country was hit by floods after heavy rains on Oct. 4, claiming 27 lives, destroying infrastructure and severing access to crucial roads and railways.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIK) said new polling stations were opened for citizens evacuated due to the disaster.
Voters can cast their ballots between 7 a.m. (0500 GMT) and 7 p.m. local time.
