Bosnian students launch humanitarian bazaar to collect aid for Palestine

Students sell handicrafts, scarves, t-shirts in Sarajevo to support Palestinian residents

By Talha Ozturk

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Bosnian students in the capital of Sarajevo launched a humanitarian bazaar Saturday for residents in Palestine in the city center.

The bazaar will be opened every day in front of the Bascarci Mosque where visitors will have the opportunity to buy handicrafts, scarves and t-shirts in support of Palestine. Brooches, cosmetics, natural juices and items from companies and small businesses that responded to the campaign will also be available.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy cakes.

"Unfortunately, terror is being perpetrated against the Palestinian people, so we decided to organize a humanitarian bazaar in order to send a message and a voice for them," said Abdulah Becirevic, a student.

All proceeds will be given by students to the humanitarian organization, Pomozi.ba, for aid to Palestine.

The Israeli army expanded air and ground attacks earlier this week on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since a surprise offensive by Hamas on Oct. 7.

“The death toll as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 is 9,500, including 3,900 children and 2,509 women,” Salama Marouf, the head of the Gaza Media Office, said at a news conference.

More than 1,538 Israelis have been killed.
