ATHENS (AA) - The Bulgarian parliament elected a spokesperson on its 11th attempt, according to media reports Friday.
A total of 140 lawmakers voted for Nataliya Kiselov, who was nominated by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and The Left. Ninety-three MPs voted no.
Kiselov, who is regarded as one of the country’s best-known experts on constitutional law, pledged to represent and administer the parliament in neutrality.
“Compromises (in the parliament) will be subject to discussion but when a decision is made, it will be observed,” she said.
The latest early parliamentary elections, which was the sixth since 2021, were held Oct. 27, after three attempts to form a government following the latest polls failed in June.
The county has been governed by a caretaker government led by Dimitar Glavchev since April.
