China, Central Asian nations establish emergency cooperation management
China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan sign Memorandum of Understanding

ISTANBUL (AA) - China and five Central Asian nations officially established a mechanism for cooperation in emergency management on Friday, according to a media report.
The agreement was solidified during a ministerial meeting in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China, state-run Xinhua News reported.
China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the mechanism.
They have also approved an action plan for emergency management cooperation spanning from 2024 to 2026 and announced the formation of a working group dedicated to China-Central Asia emergency management.
The mechanism, according to China's Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), aims to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation among the six countries.
The MEM also expressed China's readiness to enhance communication and coordination with the Central Asian nations to tackle emergency situations.
