China on Thursday launched a new remote sensing satellite into space, according to the country's state-run media.
The satellite Yaogan-39 was blasted into space at around 8.24 a.m. (2424GMT) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan Province, Xinhua News reported.
It was the 490th flight mission of the indigenous Long March carrier rocket series.
The launch came after a previous mission on Sept. 27 that carried another remote-sensing satellite into orbit.
