China logs steady growth in populations of rare, endangered wild species
Over 200 species of rare and endangered wild animals across country have shown population recovery, according to state media

ANKARA (AA)- China has recorded a steady growth in the populations of rare and endangered wild species as the country's biodiversity conservation efforts continued to produce significant results, official data showed Thursday.
Over 200 species of rare and endangered wild animals across the country have shown population recovery, while more than 100 endangered plant species have been brought under emergency protection, Beijing-based Xinhua News reported citing the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
In a record high since the nationwide monitoring began, the total number of overwintering waterbirds recorded in China reached nearly 5.06 million last year.
