China's Xi hosts Bangladeshi Premier Hasina in Beijing

ISTANBUL (AA) - China’s President Xi Jinping Wednesday hosted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The South Asian nation leader is on a three-day trip to China, the largest trade partner of Bangladesh.

“China cherishes the profound friendship forged by leaders of the older generation of the two countries,” Xi told Hasina, according to China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying.

“We will take the 50th anniversary of China-Bangladesh diplomatic ties to be marked next year as an opportunity to advance the China-Bangladesh comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership,” said Xi.​​​​​​​
