Chinese president makes short visit to Morocco

Xi Jinping meets Morocco's King Mohammed VI and Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan

RABAT, Morocco (AA) - Chinese President Xi Jinping made a short visit to Morocco to strengthen ties with the North African country, state media of both countries reported.

Xi met Morocco's King Mohammed VI and Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan on Thursday evening in Casablanca.

Moroccan state news agency MAP said Xi's visit was to reflect the depth of friendship ties, cooperation and solidarity between the two nations.

Xi made the visit after being in Brazil for the G20 summit.

According to Xinhua news, Xi said China is ready to continue working with Morocco to firmly support each other on issues concerning their respective core interests, and push for greater development of China-Morocco strategic partnership.
