‘Cinquante cinquante’: Most famous street food of Cameroon

ANKARA (AA) – Meat skewers called “cinquante cinquante” is one of the most famous street delicacies of Cameroon as they are both cheap and delicious.

The meat skewers, also known as “50.50” as they are sold across Cameroon for 50 Central African CFA francs, are offered to citizens on busy streets.

The skewers are prepared by cooking pre-marinated sheep, goat and veal meat on grills set up on wood ovens.

“The 50.50 culture was first introduced to the capital Yaounde and then to all over the country by Muslims from the north of Cameroon,” Yaounde resident Idriss Mfochive told Anadolu.

With “50.50” stalls at every corner of the city, it “has now become a tradition in Cameroon,” Mfochive said.
