BERLIN (AA) - Climate activists blocked the airports in Berlin and Munich on Thursday morning, local media reported.
In Munich, several activists of the group Last Generation glued themselves on the north runway of Munich Airport, t-online reported.
To get there, they are said to have previously cut through a fence.
The Berlin airport was also briefly blocked in the meantime and several protesting activists were also arrested, according to t-online.
Similar protests by the group had also taken place at the Berlin airport at the end of November. At that time, air traffic had to be interrupted for about two hours.
Regarding the actions on Thursday, Last Generation said in a press release: "We are always ready for constructive talks, like yesterday with the Bavarian Interior Minister. But what we need in the face of the threat of climate hell are actions and not just empty words."
The group, which has also frequently blocked roads in Munich and Berlin recently, is calling for more climate action from the German government, including among other things a 100 km/h (62.14 mph) speed limit on highways and a €9 ($9.45) train ticket for all of Germany.
