Convicted US pedophile Epstein traveled through UK airports weeks before arrest: Report

Investigation reveals Epstein flew in and out of Britain by private jet more than 60 times

LONDON (AA) - Fresh allegations have emerged regarding Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender in the United States, as analyses of recently disclosed records suggest he traveled through British airports as recently as June 2019, just one month before his arrest.

According to an investigation published by The Times on Wednesday, booking records, fuel receipts, and flight logs show that Epstein flew in and out of Britain by private jet more than 60 times.

The newspaper reported that he also arranged commercial flights for young women from or through the United Kingdom up until June 1, 2019.

Six police forces are currently examining whether alleged victims were trafficked through British commercial airports and Royal Air Force bases, including RAF Northolt.

The base, located in West London, is said to have received Epstein's private jet as recently as 2015.

For his part, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has requested the six police forces, including the Metropolitan Police, to review whether former Prince Andrew used RAF bases for flights potentially linked to Epstein.

The dossier compiled by Brown concerns flights in and out of the UK at airports falling under the jurisdiction of these six police forces.

Nazir Afzal, former Chief Crown Prosecutor, described these findings as "scandalous," stating: "Time and time again, when the police have been asked to investigate Epstein regarding sexual abuse and human trafficking, we have been told that a review found no need. How is it possible then for The Times and others to uncover vital incriminating evidence when a police review found no reason to look for it?"

He added: “We’ve seen this week how when the state is the alleged victim, the state can move at pace. When women are the alleged victims, it finds an excuse not to move at all.

The records also indicate that associates arranged flights from Heathrow Airport to New York for a Russian woman in early June 2019.
