Argentina, Chile, Bolivia register new COVID-19 cases, fatalities

ANKARA (AA) - Coronavirus infections and fatalities continued to rise in South American countries Thursday.
Cases in Argentina rose to 652,174 with 12,027 additional infections reported in the past 24 hours, according to national media.
At least 470 more patients lost their lives, bringing the number of fatalities to 13,952. Recoveries in the country stand at 517,228.
In Chile, COVID-19 cases increased by 1,380 to 449,903, while 24 more fatalities raised the death toll to 12,345.
Around 467 new virus cases brought Bolivia’s tally to 131,453, while an additional 39 fatalities took the death toll to 7,693, according to health authorities.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed more than 975,100 lives in 188 countries and regions since originating in Wuhan, China in December. The US, India, Brazil and Russia are currently the worst-hit countries.
More than 31.78 million COVID-19 cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 21.88 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
