COVID-19: Slow decline in deaths in Asia-Pacific
Philippines, Bangladesh, Singapore witness total of 95 deaths, while Hong Kong, Thailand see none

ANKARA (AA) - The Philippiness, Bangladesh, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand reported new cases of the novel coronavirus Sunday, while efforts continue to contain the pandemic.
- The Philippines
The Philippines registered 883 new cases and five fatalities over the past 24 hours, raising the overall count to 469,886, according to the country's Health Ministry.
Overall deaths in the country increased by 42 to 9,109.
Recoveries rose to 438,678, authorities announced.
- Bangladesh
Bangladesh's COVID-19 case tally surged by 1,049 over the past day, reaching 509,148, according to the Directorate-General for Health Services.
At least 24 more patients died, raising the toll to 7,452.
- Singapore
A total of five more COVID-19 cases, all of came from abroad, have raised Singapore's overall count to 58,524, according to the Health Ministry.
So far, 29 have died due to the virus and 58,362 infected people have recovered.
- Hong Kong
In the last 24 hours, 70 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, bringing the total to 8,610.
No one died from the virus as of Saturday.
To date, 136 people have died and 7,474 have recovered from the disease.
- Thailand
Thailand registered 103 new cases and no fatalities over the past day, raising the overall count to 6,123.
Recoveries also increased to 4,161, said Thailand's Status Management Center.
