Crimean doctor producing 'buggy automobiles' for Ukraine's army

'We produce these vehicles for army's intelligence units and evacuation of the wounded,' Musa tells Anadolu

KYIV, Ukraine (AA) – A Crimean doctor living in Ukraine's capital Kyiv is producing buggy-style automobiles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Before the war started, I was thinking of opening a clinic in Kyiv, but now I produce 'buggy' type vehicles for the army,” Musa, who did not give his real name for security reasons, told Anadolu in an interview.

Musa said he named the vehicle "Dracarys," adding that he is helping the Ukrainian army in order to return to his region of birth.

Indicating that he had to move to Kyiv after Moscow's annexation of Crimea in 2014, Musa said he started producing the automobiles shortly after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.

“The army needed 'buggy' type vehicles, so we started producing them. We produce these vehicles for the army's intelligence units and evacuation of the wounded, but it is also possible to mount weapons on them and use them for shooting at the front,” Musa said, adding that the automobiles move very easily in open terrain and muddy areas.

He said it takes around a month to build a buggy, using parts such as engines and gearboxes of broken or old vehicles.
