Czech envoy praises Turkiye’s all-season tourism

KAYSERI, Turkiye (AA) – The Czech ambassador to Ankara has praised Turkiye’s potential for year-round tourism with each season offering something special.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency at the Erciyes Ski Resort in the central Kayseri province, where a Czech sports event was recently held, Pavel Vacek said Turkiye has great mountains for skiing and is suitable for winter sports.

"Turkiye has beautiful mountains, and you have a lot of options for the development of skiing," he said, adding that it is a healthy sport and more people should be involved.

The diplomat said that about a quarter of a million Czechs visited Turkiye before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this figure is likely to grow in the near future.

He said Mount Erciyes, which attracts sports lovers in winter, is inspirational and hoped it will welcome more tourists.
