GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The death toll from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a home in the southeastern part of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, on Saturday evening rose to 11.
A medical source at the Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed to Anadolu on Sunday: "The number of victims from the Israeli airstrike who were brought to the hospital has risen to 11, along with several injuries."
Earlier, the same source had reported four fatalities and eight injuries following the strike on a residential building in the city.
Eyewitnesses stated that the Israeli army targeted a home belonging to the Abu Samra family southeast of Deir al-Balah.
The attack completely destroyed the house, caused severe damage to nearby properties, and resulted in numerous casualties.
Rescue teams and medical personnel continue to search the rubble for missing persons.
Israel launched a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed more than 45,200 people, mostly women and children, since Oct. 7, 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last month for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza.
