ANKARA - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan set to depart for India’s capital New Delhi to attend the G20 summit. New Delhi is set to host the summit under the theme 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' from Sept. 9-10. At its core, the G20 is an intergovernmental forum primarily concerned with economic issues and comprises of the world’s 20 largest economies – 19 countries and the European Union. It plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.

LONDON - A 41-gun salute is fired by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery in Green Park, and a 62-gun Royal salute is fired by the Honourable Artillery Company at the Tower of London, marking the anniversary of the King's accession. King Charles III's first year on the throne was marked by mixed reviews, with 59% of Britons expressing approval for his performance, while only 17% believe he is doing a bad job, a recent survey has said.


FRANCE

PARIS - French President Emmanuel Macron to host Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape. In July this year, the French president paid a visit to the South Pacific nation.

WASHINGTON - Following President Joe Biden's talks ahead of G20 summit in New Delhi, India.

WASHINGTON - Fulton County special grand jury in Georgia, which was investigating former President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn 2020 election, expected to release its full report. Trump and 18 others face charges for alleged election interference.

NEW YORK - UN Security Council to hold meeting on maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine.


MEXICO

MEXICO CITY - Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to visit Colombia and talk with his counterpart Gustavo Petro.


BANGLADESH

DHAKA - During the first high-profile visit to the South Asian nation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will call on Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also hold bilateral talks with his counterpart AK Abdul Momen. It is the first such high-profile visit to Dhaka by any top Russian official since 1971, when Bangladesh was born out of Pakistan.


THE PHILIPPINES

MANILA - Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will visit the Philippines, in the first visit to the Southeast Asian nation by any Aussie premier in the past 20 years. During his visit, Albanese will meet with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and is likely to discuss issues of defense, security, development, and education. The visit assumes significance as Manila has shored up its alliance with the US, and her allies, since the Marcos government took charge last year, amid tensions in the disputed South China Sea where several regional nations have maritime conflict with Beijing.


INDONESIA

JAKARTA - Chinese Premier Li Qiang will pay an official visit to Indonesia, a day after the Southeast Asian nation concluded the 43rd summit of ASEAN. China and Indonesia are regional allies, have large trade and cultural relations and are part of many groupings, including the world's largest trade deal, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. Indonesia is one of the main partners of China's multi-trillion Belt and Road Initiative under which a $7.3 billion rail project i.e. Jakarta and Bandung fast train, was largely funded.


THE ECONOMY

BERLIN - Germany’s Destatis to reveal inflation data for August. The annual inflation rate was at 6.1% in July and it is expected to be at the same level in August. According to Ifo Institute figures, the rate will be averaged at 6% in 2023 in the country, of which the economy is forecasted to narrow by 0.4% in the year.
