THE ECONOMY

BERLIN - Destatis to reveal developments for Germany’s wholesale prices for August. In July, wholesale prices in Germany fell 2.8% year-on-year thanks to the sharp price drop in mineral oil products. The figure dropped 0.2% on a monthly basis in July. Market expects a 0.1% monthly decline in August wholesale prices.

ANKARA - Turkish Statistical Institute to share turnover and retail sales indexes for July. In June, Türkiye's retail sales volume was up by 28.5% on an annual basis, down 0.1% from a month earlier.

MANNHEIM - Zew institute to release German and euro area economic confidence for September. The ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany increased to -12.3 in August from a seven-month low of -14.7 in July. Financial market experts anticipate a slight uptick in economic situation by year's-end. September’s figure is expected to come in at -15. The ZEW for the euro area rose to a 4-month high of -5.5 in August. After an improvement, market expects the figure to fall to 6.2 in September.
