Following:

  • The humanitarian impact on the Gaza Strip with the death toll rising to at least 7,028, including 2,913 children and 1,709 women. The damage inflicted by Israeli strikes on the enclave leaves at least 1,950 people missing under the debris of the collapsed building.
  • Hamas' armed wing announced that 50 captives have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. The announcement would affect public opinion in Israel, especially among the relatives of the captives.
  • Criticism is mounting against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his handling of the escalation in Gaza as well as the huge financial daily cost.

ISTANBUL - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to meet Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Dolmabahce Palace.

ANKARA - Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to meet his Danish counterpart Lars Lokke Rasmussen to discuss bilateral ties, and current issues, including developments in Gaza, situation in Ukraine, and Türkiye-EU relations as well as attacks on the Muslim holy book, the Quran, in some European countries.

BRUSSELS - European Council Summit to conclude. A joint statement is expected, leaders also likely to hold press conferences following summit.


SWEDEN

GENEVA - United Nations Information Service to hold biweekly press briefing for UN bodies headquartered in Geneva.


RUSSIA

MOSCOW - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Cooperation.

MOSCOW - The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Russia will hold a meeting on the key interest rate. Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina will hold a press conference.


SPORTS

LONDON - Crystal Palace to host Tottenham in the English Premier League.

MUNICH - Bayern Munich to host Fenerbahce Beko in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.


THE ECONOMY

MOSCOW - Russian Central Bank to reveal interest rate decision. During the last three monetary policy meetings the bank increased the rate from 7.5% to 13%. It is expected to make 100 basis points hike in October.
