NEW DELHI - First phase of key provincial elections in five Indian states begins. In the elections in five states, 679 assembly constituencies will go for voting.

BANGLADESH

DHAKA - Monitoring developments as political violence prolongs with the government and opposition parties sticking to their guns. Opposition parties are seeking general elections under a neutral government while the ruling party says general elections expected early next year will be held while it stays in office.

JAPAN

TOKYO - Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa and Defense Minister Minoru Kihara to host talks with their UK counterparts, Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and Defense Secretary Grant Shapps.

TOKYO - Japan to host 2-day summit of G-7 foreign ministers from Tuesday. Israel-Palestine conflict is expected to be discussed during the huddle among top diplomats of world's most industrialized nations.

PAKISTAN / AFGHANISTAN

ISLAMABAD / KABUL - Following repatriation of undocumented foreigners from Pakistan, most of whom are natives of Afghanistan. Nearly one million undocumented Afghans have been directed to leave Pakistan while interim administration in Kabul has sought international aid to manage the influx of the refugees.

THE ECONOMY

BEIJING – China to release international trade figures for October. The country’s exports and imports have been contracting in the recent period and the downward trend is expected to continue in October.

BERLIN – Germany’s Destatis to share industrial production data for September. The production has been decreasing in the last three months. September is expected to see another decline.

LUXEMBOURG – Eurostat to reveal producer prices index for September. The producer inflation, as a result of base affect related to the Russia-Ukraine war, has been decreasing since May and the downward trend to probably continue in September.

MOSCOW – The Russian Central Bank to announce interest rate decision for November. The rate was at 7.5% for a long period but the bank has been raising it since July to 15% gradually.

ANKARA – Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry to reveal cash realizations for October.

PARIS – OECD to release inflation figures for its region for September. It was at 6.4% in August. It increased in 14 OECD countries in August, while nine of them recorded rises of 0.5 percentage points or more, including Türkiye.
