Israeli killing of Turkish American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi in Nablus

More reactions to the killing of a Turkish American activist by Israeli forces while participating in a peaceful anti-settlement protest near Nablus city in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

Hundreds of Palestinians in Nablus paid farewell on Monday to Turkish American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by Israeli forces on Friday.

Eygi’s body is expected to be transported to Türkiye.


Israeli onslaught on Gaza

Humanitarian and military developments in Gaza, where Israel has killed nearly 41,000 Palestinians and injured thousands more since the Oct. 7 Hamas incursion. The situation deteriorates as Israeli attacks continue, and aid becomes scarce in the besieged enclave.

The Israeli army on Monday issued new evacuation orders for Palestinian civilians in large areas of northwestern Gaza ahead of an imminent military offensive.

The new orders came after the Israeli army claimed that Palestinian fighters fired rockets from Gaza's northwest toward Israel.


Polio vaccination campaign in Gaza Strip

Amid ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, at least 446,000 children have received the first dose of the polio vaccine, out of 640,000 children under the age of 10.

The final phase of the inoculation will be carried out in Gaza City and the northern regions on Sept. 9-12, according to the Media Office in Gaza.

On Tuesday, the campaign will begin in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, according to the Health Ministry and UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).


West Bank raids

Israeli military raids on Palestinian cities and towns in the occupied West Bank since October last year have killed at least 692 people and injured 5,700 others, with over 10,400 taken into custody.

In a sign of more Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Monday that he is working to grant 500,000 illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank “the same rights of every citizen in Israel.”


Cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas

The latest updates on Israel-Hamas cease-fire in Gaza and hostage swap talks.

Washington is preparing a new proposal to be presented to Tel Aviv and mediators but the US is not optimistic about reaching an agreement soon, state-run broadcaster KAN reported, citing unnamed Israeli and US officials.

The officials said the US has labeled the plan being drafted as a “last chance proposal.” They indicated that it might be presented in the next few days.

Egypt accused Israel on Monday of spreading “lies” to divert attention from its failure to reach a Gaza cease-fire and prisoner swap agreement with Hamas.
