Early Sunday, the Israeli army withdrew its forces from the Netzarim Corridor, which separates northern Gaza from the south, after more than a year and three months of occupation.

Palestinian resistance group Hamas accused Israel on Sunday of hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza under a ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli website Ynet reported on Sunday that an Israeli delegation has arrived in Doha to negotiate the second phase of the prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli violations of Lebanon ceasefire

Israeli army violations of a ceasefire deal after Lebanon and Israel agreed to extend a deadline for Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon until Feb. 18.

The Israeli army burnt down several homes and properties in the town of Kfarkela in southern Lebanon, in the latest breach of the ceasefire agreement, local media reported on Sunday, bringing the total number of violations to nearly 880, according to statistics compiled by Anadolu, based on Lebanese reports.


Israeli raids in West Bank, particularly in its northern area

Nearly daily Israeli military raids on Palestinian cities and towns in the occupied West Bank, especially in Jenin, accompanied by illegal settler violence against Palestinians and their property.

Israel has forcibly displaced more than 20,000 Palestinians from the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, a Palestinian official said on Sunday.

The Israeli escalation follows a broader Israeli military offensive that began on Jan. 21 in Jenin and its refugee camp, as well as surrounding towns, killing at least 25 people, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The army expanded its assault into Tulkarem on Jan. 27, killing five more people. On Feb. 2, another assault was launched on the town of Tammun and the Far'a refugee camp in the Tubas city.

Israel has killed at least 906 people in the occupied West Bank since October 2023 and injured over 6,700 others, with more than 14,300 taken into custody.


Egyptian foreign minister’s visit to US

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty's engagements in United States after he flew on Sunday to Washington for talks with US officials on developments in the Middle East region.

He will meet with senior officials in the new US administrations and Congress members to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and the US.

The discussions will also take up the latest developments in the Middle East region.


Jordanian king's visit to US

The second day of an open-ended visit by Jordan’s King Abdullah to the United States, which includes stops in Boston and Washington, D.C.

On Sunday, Abdullah met with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

According to the royal court, King Abdullah is scheduled to meet Monday in Boston with representatives of American companies, higher education institutions, and Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey.

The king is also set to receive Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and members of congressional committees in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

On Tuesday, King Abdullah will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington.


Developments in Syria under new administration

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met with a high-level Greek delegation led by Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis in Damascus Sunday.

The presidency did not provide any details about the content of the meeting, which was also attended by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.


Deteriorating situation in war-torn Sudan

A dire security situation continues to unfold in the North African nation of Sudan amid intensified clashes between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

On Sunday, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry has announced what it called a "roadmap for preparing for the post-war phase and resuming the comprehensive political process, which will culminate in holding general elections."

This comes as the army continues its advance in Khartoum and expands its control over villages and towns in Al-Jazira State in the center of the country.

South Africa contributes more than 2,000 peacekeepers in the DR Congo as part of Southern African peacekeepers. Twenty peacekeepers were killed during last month’s attack, 14 of them were South Africans.

South Africans have been calling for the return of their troops.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun visits Manila where he will be hosted by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral issues as well as developments in the region.
