Dragon Group's 8th meeting in Riyadh discusses counter-terrorism efforts, developments in Palestine
Group, makes up of Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, UK, holds annual meetings in Saudi capital

Saudi Arabia hosted the eighth Dragon Group meeting that discussed regional developments, including counter-terrorism efforts, developments in Palestine and de-escalation efforts in the region.
According to the official Saudi news agency SPA, the Saudi Defense Ministry hosted the meeting that was attended by the chiefs of staff and representatives from Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and the UK, in addition to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat.
It added that the meeting covered topics of common interest, including counter-terrorism, developments in the Palestinian territories, the need for humanitarian aid access, and regional de-escalation efforts.
The meeting also stressed the importance of maritime security, ensuring the safety of waterways, and strengthening anti-smuggling and anti-piracy operations.
Dragon Group, named after its first meeting aboard UK's royal navy destroyer HMS Dragon in 2018, is an annual meeting of defense chiefs from the GCC member states, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and the UK.
