Drone attack targets occupied Golan Heights
Israeli media reports drone allegedly launched from Syria damages building

JERUSALEM (AA) - An explosive-laden drone, suspected to have been launched from Syria, targeted the occupied Golan Heights on Wednesday evening, raising tension in the region.
The drone damaged a building, but caused no injuries, Israeli Army Radio reported.
This marks the first such incident since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza on Oct. 7, it added.
“The Israeli army forces found an explosive-laden drone that fell in the southern Golan Heights,” Israel daily Yedioth Ahronoth quoted the Golan Regional Council as saying.
Israel occupied the Syrian Golan Heights in 1967, annexing it in 1981. However, the UN and the majority of the international community, except the US, consider it as occupied territory.
In a related development, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi vowed on Monday to make Israel "pay the price for the killing of the prominent Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander, Reza Mousavi."
Reza Mousavi was reportedly killed in an airstrike near the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday.
Tel Aviv has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack.
