Drone that targeted Tel Aviv building flew distance of 2,000 km from Yemen: Report

JERUSALEM (AA) - The drone that hit a building in Tel Aviv early on Friday flew a distance of 2,000 km from Yemen, Israeli media reported on Friday.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the explosive-laden drone used different routes to confuse the Israeli army's detection systems, and flew at a low altitude to avoid detection.

The drone, which Israel says was of Iranian origin, is said to have designed to hold a small payload, allowing it to cross Egypt's Sinai and enter Israel through the Mediterranean Sea.

The Israeli Army Radio said the drone had a 10 kg payload and cut the distance from Yemen to Tel Aviv in 10 hours.

Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed one person and injured at least 10.

The Israeli military in a statement on X said it will continue operating to defend its civilians.
