Economic confidence in Türkiye crossed the critical 100-point threshold for the first time in a year, reaching a 21-month high this March, according to official data released on Friday.
The economic confidence index climbed by 1.6% month-on-month to 100.8, marking its highest level since June 2023, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
This recovery offset February’s 0.5% monthly dip, signaling renewed optimism in the country’s economic outlook.
The sub-index for the real sector – the manufacturing industry – edged up by 0.4% from the previous month to 103.2 in March.
Consumer and services confidence indexes saw gains of 4.6% and 0.2%, reaching 85.9 and 114.4, respectively.
Retail trade and construction confidence indexes declined by 2.5% and 0.5%, falling to 116.3 and 89.3, respectively.
A confidence index above 100 signals optimism about the economy, while readings below 100 reflect a more cautious or pessimistic perspective.
