EU annual inflation down to 0.2% in November
Highest contribution to annual euro area inflation rate comes from food, alcohol, tobacco, says Eurostat

ANKARA (AA) - Consumer prices in the EU was 0.2% year-on-year in November, the bloc’s statistics office said on Thursday.
The figure was 0.3% in October and a year earlier it was 1.3%, the Eurostat said.
In euro area, the annual inflation rate was -0.3% in November 2020, stable compared to October. A year earlier, the rate was 1.0%.
In November, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from food, alcohol & tobacco (+0.36 percentage points), followed by services (+0.25), non-energy industrial goods (-0.07) and energy (-0.82).
Compared with a month earlier, annual inflation fell in 14 member states, increased in nine, and remained stable in four.
The lowest rate was seen in Greece at minus 2.1%, followed by Estonia and Southern Cyprus with minus 1.2% and minus 1.1%, respectively.
Poland (3.7%), Hungary and the Czech Republic (2.8%) posted the highest inflation rates in November.
The eurozone/euro area, or EA19, represents member states that use the single currency – euro – while EU27 includes all member countries of the bloc.
