The European Union expressed frustration Friday about the lack of progress at a G20 environment ministers' meeting in India, according to media reports.
The ministers failed to find a consensus on four of 68 topics, including energy transition plans.
EU Commissioner for Environment, Virginijus Sinkevicius, deplored a "glass half empty" at the end of the meeting, according to Politico.
"We simply are nowhere," said Sinkevicius, as he criticized "narrow national interests" that are determining the pace.
The ministers who failed to set global targets to improve energy transition and the use of renewable sources will meet again in New Delhi in September.
