EU posts foreign trade surplus of $6.7B in January
EU's exports at same level with January 2023 but imports down by 16.1% in January

ISTANBUL (AA) - The international trade surplus was €6.2 billion ($6.7 billion) in the EU in January, the Eurostat announced on Monday.
The euro area also posted a surplus of €11.4 billion in the month, the 27-member bloc's statistical authority added.
In January 2023, the EU posted a deficit of €38.6 billion while the euro area saw a deficit of €32.6 billion, Eurostat reminded.
The EU's exports of goods in January 2024 totaled €198.7 billion, the same as in January 2023, imports from the rest of the world stood at €214.5 billion, down 16.1%.
The euro area exported goods worth €225.9 billion, up 1.3% year-on-year in January, while its imports amounted to €214.5 billion, decreasing by 16.1%.
