European exchanges close Friday with losses

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges finished Friday with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.13 points, or 0.22%, to close at 523.55.

The UK's FTSE 100 almost shed 40 points, or 0.48%, to 8,245. Italy's FTSE MIB also shed nearly 174 points, or 0.5%, to 34,660.

Germany's DAX was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 95 points, or 0.51%, to 18,557.

France's CAC 40 decreased 38 points, or 0.48%, to end the session at 8,001.

Spain's IBEX 35, meanwhile, declined 39 points, or 0.34%, to end the week at 11,404.
