European exchanges close Monday higher except in UK

Spain's IBEX performs best, rising 0.66%, UK's FTSE loses 0.15%

ISTANBUL (AA) — European stock exchanges closed higher on Monday, except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 1.68 points, or 0.32%, to finish at 519.85.

Germany's DAX 30 rose 110 points, or 0.6%, to close the first trading day of the week at 18,608. France's CAC 40 rose only five points, or 0.06%, to 7,998.

Italy's FTSE MIB increased 177 points, or 0.52%, to finish at almost 34,670.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, gaining 75 points, or 0.66%, to end the session at 11,397.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, lost 12 points, or 0.15%, to close at 8,262.
