European exchanges close Wednesday with gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed Wednesday with gains.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, was up 2.44 points, or 0.49%, to 504.10.

The UK’s FTSE 100 increased 45 points, or 0.56%, to end the session at 8,281.

Germany’s DAX added 73 points, or 0.41%, to end at 17,885. France’s CAC 40 rose 57 points, or 0.79%, to 7,333.

Italy’s FTSE MIB, was the best performer of the day, rising 321 points, or 1%, to 32,328.

Spain’s IBEX 35, meanwhile, increased 29 points, or 0.27%, to 10,753 at the closing bell.
