European exchanges close with gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed Monday with gains.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of European markets in 17 countries, was up 2.14 points, or 0.41%, to 520.95.

The UK’s FTSE 100 added 36 points, or 0.45%, to end the session at 8,285.

Germany’s DAX gained 68 points, or 0.35%, to finish at 19,531. France’s CAC 40 rose nearly 59 points, or 0.79%, to 7,556.

Italy’s FTSE MIB gained 240 points, or 0.69%, to 35,016.

Spain’s IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, rising 99 points, or 0.84%, to 11,912 at the closing bell.
