ISTANBUL (AA) - The European Muslim Forum urged the international community to prevent Israel's genocide against Palestinians through all available legal means.
Members of the European Muslim Forum met online with participants from Europe to discuss developments in Palestine in a meeting attended by Lauren Booth, a member of the Muslim Women's Council, Mahmoud Habbas, advisor to the Palestinian Presidency's Religious Affairs, Anna Stamou, a member of the Greek Muslim Association, Mufti Romas Jakubauskas of the Lithuanian Sunni Muslim Faith Center, Turkish MP Dogan Bekin and others.
The current situation in Palestine was discussed and actions that could be taken in Europe and the Islamic world were debated. The distortion of events by Western media was also condemned.
Representatives from 36 countries expressed their commitment to not remain indifferent to what is happening in the center of the Islamic and Arab world.
At the end of the meeting, a statement said European Muslims have united in giving heartfelt support to the people of Palestine and Gaza.
It demanded that Israeli officials and the global public respect the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.
"Our demand is growing stronger because they are not only being deprived of their right to establish their own state but also their most fundamental right, the right to exist, is being attempted to be taken away from them before our eyes. Taking the lives of innocent people is unacceptable, no matter how much political interests try to justify it,” it said.
It urged the international community and well-intentioned people in Europe to resort to legal means to prevent the genocide of Palestinians.
