European stock exchanges close Monday mixed

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed mixed on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, edged up 0.44 points, or 0.11%, to finish flat at 456.26.

The UK's FTSE 100 declined nearly eight points, or 0.11%, to 7,496. Germany's DAX 30 decreased almost 18 points, or 0.11%, to close the day at 15,901.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, rose 13 points, or 0.18%, to end the first trading day of the week at 7,246.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, increased 43 points, or 0.15%, to finish at 29,541.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, rising 77 points, or 0.79%, to close the session at 9,839.
