European stock exchanges close Monday mixed

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed mixed on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose just 0.8 points, or 0.16%, to finish flat at 492.39.

France's CAC 40 added just 0.37 points to remain almost unchanged at 7,768. The UK's FTSE 100 rose 16 points, or 0.22%, to end the session at 7,728.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, rising 58 points, or 0.59%, to end the day at 9,944.

Germany's DAX 30, on the other hand, fell 25 points, or 0.15%, to finish at 17,092.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, dropped 56 points, or 0.18%, to close at 31,676.
