European stocks close higher except in UK

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed higher on Wednesday except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 2.06 points, or 0.45%, to finish at 459.10.

Germany's DAX 30 was the best performer of the day, adding 173 points, or 1.09%, to close at 16,166.

France's CAC 40 rose 17 points, or 0.24%, to finish the session at 7,267. Italy's FTSE MIB added 311 points, or 1.06%, to end at 29,688.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 59 points, or 0.59%, to end the day at 10,062.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, lost 31 points, or 0.43%, to close at 7,423.
