European stocks close higher except in UK

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed higher Tuesday except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 1.88 points, or 0.4%, to finish at 467.66.

Germany's DAX 30 was the best performer of the day, adding 134 points, or 0.82%, to close at 16,539.

France's CAC 40 rose 54 points, or 0.74%, to finish the session at 7,387. Italy's FTSE MIB added 150 points, or 0.5%, to end at 30,065.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 82 points, or 0.81%, to end the day at 10,260.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, lost 24 points, or 0.33%, to close at 7,491.
