European stocks close higher except in UK, Spain

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed higher on Monday, except in the UK and Spain.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 1.44 points, or 0.3%, to finish at 473.70.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, increasing almost 25 points, or 0.33%, to 7,551.

Germany's DAX 30 gained 35 points, or 0.21%, to 16,794. Italy's FTSE MIB added 22 points, or 0.07%, to end the day at 30,426.

The UK's FTSE, on the other hand, fell nine points, or 0.13%, to end at 7,544.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 25 points, or 0.25%, to close at 10,198.
